I’m Mimo and I’m a native speaker of both English and Arabic (Egyptian dialect). I can also speak German (self-taught). My story with languages is quite an interesting one. I was born in Egypt, however at the age of just 8 months, my whole family moved to England, which is where I grew up as a Bilingual.
I have a bachelor’s degree in the field of Petroleum Engineering, however I’ve always had a passion for teaching. So, I decided to pursue my passion, which led to me getting a TEFL/TESOL certificate. That really helped me familiarize with all aspects of the English language, such as grammar, phonetics and so on. Since, most native speakers don’t really speak by following rules.
I have been teaching English for about 2 years now and this is just the beginning. I thoroughly enjoy talking to students from all over the world to learn about their cultures and languages.
In this blog, I would like to give people the information I wish I had known, before I started teaching myself German. It would have really saved me a lot of time and effort. Here I will pour out to you my experiences with students and how they overcame their problems, in addition to my personal experiences with language learning and what a person must go through to achieve their goals.
